Lauren and Eric

Bride and groom posing on a little bridge near the Royal Ottawa Golf Club

We love doing anniversary blog posts. Going down memory lane to revisit some of our favorite moments with our couples is always so much fun.  Today we celebrate the first wedding anniversary of Lauren & Eric, who had the most beautiful June wedding at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Aylmer.

The Royal Ottawa Golf Club is one of the prettiest golf club around. The architecture, the elegant decor, the richness of the textures, the landscaping, it certainly has everything you need. It is also one of the reasons Lauren & Eric chose this wonderful venue for their wedding. All they had to do was to bring in some florals to adorn the reception tables. And wow, did Les Jardins Sheffield ever deliver!

Lauren and Eric wanted a day to celebrate with their closest family and friends. They chose to have an intimate first look before the guests arrived, followed by their bridal party photos. In fact, we love it when couples decide to their group photos before the ceremony, because it gives them the opportunity to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests, as well as take a break from formal photos.

The entire day was relaxed, the weather absolutely perfect, and thanks to the wonderful ladies at Opportunity Knocks, everything ran on time. It makes such a big difference when all your vendors are on the same page, working together to allow couple to fully enjoy themselves. If you are currently planning a wedding and are on the fence about hiring a planner or a coordinator, don’t hesitate and just do it! You will not regret it.

Wedding Advice

We asked Lauren and Eric if they had any advice for couples currently planning their wedding. Their advice is to not stress, but plan ahead. Book your venue early (they booked a year in advance), think about what you really want and need for your day, then put care into the details that matters most to you.
We couldn’t agree more! The sooner the big pieces are crossed off the list, the better. The you can focus your attention on bringing your vision to life to have the day you have been dreaming of.

Since images are worth a thousand words, we invite you to take a look at their amazing wedding day below. Finally, we want to give a big shoot-out to our wonderful colleague Mélanie Olmstead for helping us document the day.
